2009

2009 is coming to end and I thought the perfect way to remember it is to make a blog post where I highlight the best parts of each month and talk about the year

January- Jordan's Birthday and Cat's Birthday
What was the best part of 2009?
I have to say definitely the two week trip to Europe and anytime spent with Jordan

What was the worst part of 2009?
Graduation. One of the most stressful and depressing points of my life. I was not ready for it at all.

February- Valentines Day aka My Birthday!

What was the biggest surprise of this year?
Probably that despite the long distance and the struggles, Jordan and I have pretty much survived and our relationship has only gotten stronger.

What are you most looking forward to next year?
I feel major decisions in my life are going to have to be made next year, so I'm looking forward to seeing which path I end up taking.

March- St.Patricks Day
Is there anything you are not looking forward to next year?
Growing up :(

April- Visiting Bryan at school
Which was your favorite month?
My favorite month had to be June, when I went to Europe and reconnected with old friends.

Which was your worst month?
This is hard.. I would have to say May even though there was so many good memories. Its just that it was the month I graduated.

May- South street SeaPort trip & Dewey Beach

What was the best TV show of this year?
It was definitely Dexter, just cause this last season was pretty exciting.

What was the best book you read this year?
I did not get to read many books this year, but I recently read a good book named "The five people you meet in heaven" by Mitch Albom

What was the best film you have seen this year?
It is a tie between Inglorious Bastards and 500 days of Summer.

Have you done something you regret?
Yes, but I truly believe that it helped me out in the end. I always try to learn from my mistakes and I know that everything happens for a reason.

June- Beach & good times with friends
What was your greatest musical discovery?
I would have to say Katy Perry singing "Hackensack"

July- Park, My cousin's wedding and Coney Island
What did you want this year and got?
Well I always wanted a Wii and I finally got one :)

What did you want this year and did not get?
A new cell phone :(...I need one badly.

Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Um no not really, everyone that I do not really like this year has been on my I do not like list for a while now.

August- Barbecue, making peanut butter surprise cupcakes and Miller brothers photoshoot
What did you do in 2009 that you had never done before?
Travel on two planes for about 8 hours back to back. I have a horrible phobia of airplanes so it was a pretty big accomplishment for me.

Did you visit any countries?
I was in Italy, Spain and Greece. Amazing trip

September- Jordan and I's 1year anniversary in the city & my trip to Baltimore
What will you be doing on new years eve?
I have no clue yet..

Who will you be with on new years eve?
Jordan and most likely my family, which I think is the perfect way to celebrate the coming of 2010.

What was your biggest achievement of 2009?
Bringing up my grade point average in college and making the dean's list.

What was your biggest failure of 2009?
I cannot say I really had one. There was a lot of things I couldn't achieve this year, but I wouldn't call it a failure because Im not giving up on them.

October- Pumpkin carving and our trip to Madame Tussauds in the city

What did you get really excited about in 2009?
My senior trip to Dewey Beach and my birthday in DC.

Which new years resolutions did you break last year?
I had only a few resolutions which was to keep positive, surround myself with people that I love and just be happy. Although I did slip up a few times, I think I actually did a pretty good job of keeping them.

November- Jordan and I's 1year 2month anniversary
What will be your new years resolutions next year?
Next year I want to stay true to myself, stay far far away from drama, always remain strong in what seems to be hopeless situations and always appreciate the life I have.

December- First Snow
If you could replay last year again, would you?
No thanks, I think experiencing 2009 once was enough lol.

Its definitely been an interesting year with a lot of memories to keep. I am so ready to experience 2010 and see where it takes me.

Baby, its Cold Outside

The Holidays are finally here and I feel like I can finally take a break from what is my job/internship hunting life. This year was the first year in four years that I helped pick out and decorate our christmas tree. Of course my mother and I were super picky (Its rare to find the perfect tree) but we eventually found one that looked right. Its a tad lop-sided and has a few empty spots, but my mother made the best of it (as seen below). Although I hate the winter, I am super grateful for the snow storm that occured this weekend for adding that extra touch of christmas. Above is a photo of my living room and below is one of our tree.
Here are a few of my favorite ornaments, including a snowman on bike! Cmon you dont see that everyday...

To fill up those empty spots my mom put in some birds. She even created a nest with a few fake eggs, inspired by a real nest in our driveway.

These next photos were Jordan and I's attempt at creating light pictures. We use one of those grill lighting thingamagigs, which did not work out so well cause it kept going out. We are definitely going to try again..Im thinking next time sparklers? Although these are kind of pathetic, you cannot deny my awesome skills of spelling my name backwards with a flame...I was so close!

Well all that is left for me is some major wrapping, because I finally finished my Christmas shopping today. I'm so excited for Christmas day to open presents and finally have the whole extended family over. Happy Holidays Everybody!

Here are some photos from my trip to Baltimore/DC. The photos above are of the Miller house and the photo below is the beautiful Kitten. Shes my favorite subject to photograph when I stay with the Millers...

Jordan and I had decided to finally take the trip to DC we had been planning for months. We took the metro in and went to the Museum of Natural History. I have to say the museum in DC pretty much kicked the Museum of Natural History in NYC's ass. Sorry NY... I mean cmon there were beetles!

After the museum we went to a park with a large fountain, which was scattered with different sculptures..

Below are some photos of our favorites...
Then we took the metro back to Baltimore..
A day or two later was July 4th

Again Kitten was my favorite subject...
Bryan and I decided to take advantage of his neighbor's garden tour...
We ended the night with our own fireworks...it was quite a show
