So this is the new year...

So here is how my 2010 has been so far..

Lets just go back to 2009 for a moment. I wasn't sure if I wanted to put up Christmas day photos, just cause I wasn't too crazy on how they came out.But here are a few of my favorites. We ended up spending the day with our extended family and doing a lot of eating...

Last year (so weird to say that) I really didn't have an interest in going out and partying for new years. So, I ended up spending new years eve with my family and Jordan at a restaurant. After about three cosmos, shrimp cocktail, surf and turf and just a bite of cheesecake we finally rang in the new year. It was a pretty good night :)

When we went outside it was snowing, which I thought was perfect for a photo-op...
The next day we started the new year right by eating junk food and playing lego batman alll dayyy. It was good rest, since the next day we decided to go out in the snow and visit the city. We went to the Museum of Modern Art and attempted to go to Serendipity. Unfortunately, after standing in the freezing cold with empty stomachs for a while we learned there was a three hour wait. So we hopped into another cab and settled for bbq ribs at Planet Hollywood. However back to the MoMa...

First we went to the design and architecture exhibits, which I loved. If I were any better of an artist I would have probably pursued design. I think it amazing how designers can take everyday shapes, forms and objects and completely reinvent them to give them a new function. The best was the chandelier made out of broken plates and forks. It would look perfect in my room :)

Afterwards we went to the drawing, paintings and sculptures exhibits..

This was my favorite piece...

Then there was the more famous pop art like Andy Warhol's Campbells Soup...

A shot outside of one of the windows..

A couple of the pieces were a little hard to understand...for example, Jordan's personal favorite, the felt suit..

Then there was the erotic sculptures collection...

This one is my second favorite piece..

Then we went to the media and print exhibits, where we saw art like the penis hat.. lol

The main reason we went to the Moma was to see the Tim Burton exhibit. The tickets were beyond hard to get. We had to get on an emailing list just to know when it was possible to just go online and reserve the tickets. Therefore when we finally got there it turned out the exhibit was crowded with way too many people. I also was so disappointed to see a sign in the front of the exhibit stating No Photography Allowed :(. The only reason I bought my camera was for those shots. I got the photo below from google just to show you the awesome entrance. Anyways the exhibit itself was amazing. There were props, drawings and notes from Nightmare before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Batman, Willy Wonka, Mars Attacks, Edward Scissorshands and other films Tim Burton was involved with. My favorite pieces were the notes, in Burton's handwriting, where he wrote the original ideas for most of his movies.

Along with our Tim Burton tickets we got tickets to see a film at the museum. We decided on Plan 9 from Outer Space. The movie was directed by apparently ( and after seeing the movie I can see why..) the worst director ever, Ed Wood. Tim Burton, himself later made a movie about the director and that was the reason the museum was featuring it. While we were waiting in the theater Jordan looked the film up in IMDB and read some of the goofs (side note: there were about 50 of them on the site). One of the biggest problems of the movie was the changing of night to day to day to night all in supposedly one scene. The movie was (as described by Moma) unintentionally hilarious. I highly recommend it.
We spent Sunday just hanging out and taking photobooth photos. Some featured the 25 cent mustaches we got from a supermarket vending machine..

All in all it was an amazing weekend. There's nothing I love more than spending time with Jordan cuddling in bed, in my sweats :).
2010 has started out pretty good so far and it looks like it will be a productive year. On new years day I found out that I got a marketing internship I had interviewed for about two weeks ago. Im going to go from the girl that did nothing every day to the girl who interns monday through thursday from 9am-6pm and then takes gmat classes every Saturday. I am hoping, once im done with both, to apply for jobs, take the gmat and then make the decision (or have the decision made for me) of school or career. Kinda like the board game of life....Stop choose career, Stop get married, Stop buy a house...Stop have twins!...Ok thats too far lol hopefully the last three will come wayyy later in life. Bring on the stress 2010!
